3 Piece 6 Hem Curtain System
The 3 piece 6 hem curtain system has three curtains for each run. Each of the curtains are a two hem curtain. The top pipe of each curtain is mounted and the curtains roll up onto the bottom pipe. The top curtain is up and the header and the second and third are mounted about one-third and two-thirds of the way down the opening.
Each curtain covers about one-third of the clear opening. When fully closed the top curtain overlaps the middle and the middle overlaps the bottom, the bottom curtain overlaps the wall/footer.
The 3 piece 6 hem system operates with 3 drive units operating in the cage.
The top curtain is the first to be opened, followed by the middle curtain and finally the bottom curtain. When closing the order of operation is reversed and the bottom curtain is closed first, followed by the middle and then the top curtain is the last to be closed. When fully closed the bottom curtain should overlap the wall/footer and the middle and top curtains should overlap the curtain below it. When fully opened the top curtain will be rolled up to the top pipe mounted to the header. The middle and bottom curtain will be rolled up to the pipe mounted about one-third and two-thirds of the way from the head to the footer.
The 3 piece 6 hem curtain is typically used for cross ventilated or tunnel ventilated barns. The system is designed to better handle the static pressure in these types of barns with less wear on the components such as motors and the curtain fabric itself.
